Gdańsk Border Guard fines passenger for smoking on flight from Egypt
A 42-year-old man from Mława was fined 500 PLN by the Border Guard after smoking in an aircraft toilet during a night flight from Marsa Alam, Egypt, to Gdańsk, Poland, on August 26. The intervention was carried out by the Special Intervention Team of the Border Guard Station in Gdańsk following the violation of aviation law.
This incident follows another recent intervention on August 25 involving a 41-year-old Turkish citizen arriving from Tirana, who was fined 500 PLN for consuming alcohol and behaving vulgarly toward crew members. According to the Maritime Border Guard, there has been a broader trend of security violations at Gdańsk Airport, with 54 interventions involving 58 individuals recorded since the beginning of 2026.
