Gdańsk Home Army Veterans Association Holds Annual Gathering

From 24 to 26 September 2025, the Związek Żołnierzy Armii Krajowej (ZG ŚZŻAK) convened its annual assembly in Gdańsk at the invitation of city mayor Aleksandra Dulkiewicz and the Pomorskie district of the association. The three‑day meeting assembled national leaders, including ZG ŚZŻAK president captain Janusz Komorowski (pseudonym “Antek”), representatives from throughout Poland and invited guests.

Highlights included the laying of a wreath at the Home Army monument in Sopot, a ceremony guarded by Polish Navy personnel, and the presentation of the "Wierni Akowskiej Przysiędze" medals to Janusz Komorowski, Rafał Obarzanek and Iwona Stępień. The organization also detailed its new "Sztafeta" programme, designed to transition the association from a combat‑focused legacy to a social‑civic role, passing responsibilities to younger generations while preserving the memory of the Home Army.
