Gdańsk LNG terminal reaches milestone with seabed pile installation
GAZ-SYSTEM has reached a significant milestone in the construction of a floating LNG terminal (FSRU) in the Gdańsk Bay. The company has completed the driving of over 500 steel piles into the seabed, establishing the physical foundation for the regasification facility.
The project, executed by a consortium including the Polish firm FABE Polska, was completed on schedule and within budget despite challenging maritime conditions. Following the installation of the piles, the next phases will involve mounting mooring and operational equipment, constructing platforms, and preparing the underwater section of the gas pipeline.
In parallel, work continues to connect the maritime infrastructure to the national transmission network. This includes the completion of a microtunnel through the Górek Zachodnich region using a Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), which has finished drilling a kilometer-long corridor under forests and dunes.
