Gdańsk Ukraine Recovery Conference secures 200 deals over €10 bn

The Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC) held in Gdańsk on 25‑26 June 2026 gathered about 7,500 participants, including 70 official delegations, 30 international organization delegations and 19 high‑level state delegations. Organisers reported the signing of close to 200 agreements and memoranda of understanding with a combined value exceeding €10 billion. Roughly 15 of those deals involve direct cooperation between the Polish and Ukrainian governments, with the largest opportunities for Polish firms in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Polish officials highlighted the commercial significance, with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stating that Polish companies will be "the biggest beneficiaries of Ukraine’s reconstruction." The conference also introduced a fifth pillar focused on security and defence, underpinned by Warsaw, and emphasized the need for private‑capital co‑financing as public funds cannot cover the estimated $588 billion reconstruction cost over the next decade. Diplomatic tensions were evident as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky did not attend, sending Prime Minister Ioulia Sviridenko instead, following a recent dispute over the White Eagle Order. The event therefore combined large‑scale investment commitments with a backdrop of strained Poland‑Ukraine relations.
