Gdańsk updates development plan following thousands of public comments

Gdańsk officials have processed over 4,000 public comments regarding the city's general development plan. The feedback addressed nearly 11,800 specific locations, with many residents advocating for increased green space protection and higher building intensity in certain areas.

Mayor Aleksandra Dulkiewicz noted that while the city aims to preserve family allotment gardens where they do not conflict with infrastructure, certain areas near the Lech Wałęsa Gdańsk Airport may be subject to change to ensure land reserves for airport expansion. Following the consultations, the city has increased green areas in the plan by 30 hectares, including locations in Smęgorzyn and along Aleja Hałasów.
