Poland infrastructure: Local road and transit developments
Various regional infrastructure projects are underway across Poland, focusing on road modernization and public transit adjustments. In Węglówka, a county road reconstruction has been completed, featuring a widened roadway, improved drainage, and a new 350-meter sidewalk to enhance pedestrian safety.
In the Chełmiec commune, nearly 2.75 kilometers of new sidewalks have been constructed in Świniarsko, Librantowa, Marcinkowice, and Chomranice, representing an investment of approximately 4.8 million PLN. Similarly, in the Wysokie commune, modernization efforts include a 802-meter section of road in Biskupie-Kolonia and a new internal road in Nowy Dwór.
Public transportation is also seeing significant changes. In Kraków, the expansion of the tram network to Mistrzejowice has triggered a restructuring of local lines, leading to passenger concerns regarding transfers and frequency. Meanwhile, in Wrocław, tram line 9 has returned to its traditional route through the city center following the completion of track repairs. In the Łódź Voivodeship, PKP Intercity has announced an expanded schedule starting mid-December, increasing connections to major cities like Gdańsk, Kraków, and Katowice.
