Gdynia considers motorcycle bans to combat noise pollution
Authorities in Gdynia are considering radical measures to combat noise pollution caused by loud motorcycles. Following nearly a year of public consultations involving approximately 5,500 residents, the city is exploring options that could include a total ban on motorcycles entering the city center.
While a complete ban may be difficult to implement, partial restrictions are already in effect on sections of Świętojańska Street. Experts have prepared a diagnostic report identifying high-impact areas, such as Śródmieście and Kamienna Góra, where residents are most affected by noise. A final proposal regarding motorcycle traffic changes is expected to be formulated by the end of September 2026.
