Gdynia Mayor Aleksandra Kosiorek reports vehicle tampering investigation

Police in Gdynia are investigating an incident involving the vehicle of Mayor Aleksandra Kosiorek after a wheel detached while the car was in motion. The incident occurred over the weekend during a trip; while the Mayor was not in the vehicle, her husband and three children were on board.

Kosiorek reported that the bolts on both rear wheels had been loosened. The vehicle had traveled over 120 kilometers, including on a highway, before the wheel fell off. The Mayor has filed a formal notification regarding the “endangerment of a person to the direct danger of loss of life or serious bodily harm.”

Authorities have collected evidence and transferred the case to the Gdynia District Prosecutor's Office for legal assessment. An expert will be appointed to determine whether the loosening of the bolts was accidental or intentional. Kosiorek noted that she had previously received threats, and police have offered her protection.
