GE Aerospace qualifies NYCO turbine oil for GEnx-1B engines

GE Aerospace has qualified NYCO’s TURBONYCOIL 600 turbine oil for use in GEnx-1B engines, which power Boeing 787 aircraft.

The qualification follows a 36-month in-flight evaluation conducted by Air France, totaling nearly 7,000 flight hours. During the testing period, oil analyses confirmed the thermal stability of the product and the effectiveness of its antioxidant and anti-wear additive package.

Engine teardowns and inspections performed after the evaluation demonstrated effective wear protection for lubricated components and low levels of coke deposition. This milestone marks an expansion for NYCO within the civil aviation sector.
