GE HealthCare advances radioisotope manufacturing with new certifications
GE HealthCare has achieved CE Mark certification for its MINItrace Magni cyclotron and expanded its PETtrace Solid Target Platform to include Copper-64 manufacturing capabilities. These advancements are designed to support the production infrastructure required by healthcare institutions for positron emission tomography (PET) programs and radiopharmaceutical research.
The MINItrace Magni is an automated, self-shielded cyclotron intended for in-house radioisotope production. It is designed to produce Carbon-11, Fluorine-18, Nitrogen-13, and Oxygen-15 using a simplified three-click operational interface for beam tuning, target irradiation, and target preparation. When used with TRACERcenter Solutions, the unit integrates into existing PET radiopharmacy setups.
Additionally, the expansion of the PETtrace Solid Target Platform to include Copper-64 allows facilities to increase their tracer output. Copper-64 is utilized for diagnostic imaging and is being researched as part of a potential diagnostic and therapeutic theranostic pairing with Copper-67. Current clinical research includes the study of Copper-64 labeled compounds in prostate cancer and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) applications.
