Geanilda Vásquez announces 2028 candidacy for Santo Domingo Mayoralty

Geanilda Vásquez, a member of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), has announced her aspirations to run for Mayor of the National District in 2028. Her platform focuses on building a modern, intelligent, and green capital that emphasizes coastal potential and organized transit.

Vásquez aims to build upon the current administration of Mayor Carolina Mejía, proposing to decontaminate rivers and ravines while expanding public spaces. Her professional background includes serving as a city councilwoman for six years, Minister without Portfolio of the Presidency, and Consul General of the Dominican Republic in Miami. She currently serves as the coordinator of the Social Policy Cabinet.
