Gearbox Software announces Borderlands 4 DLC: FL4K and the Last Resort

Gearbox Software has announced details for the second major story expansion for Borderlands 4, titled ‘FL4K and the Last Resort’. Scheduled for release on September 10, 2026, the $20 DLC features the return of the Beastmaster character FL4K from Borderlands 3.

The narrative centers on a rescue mission set on the tropical jungle island of Providence. Players will attempt to save FL4K’s skag, Mr. Chew, from Tediore soldiers. The expansion introduces a new playable Vault Hunter, a cyberpunk hacker named Loveless, who utilizes advanced cybernetics and a digital virus pet in combat.

Gameplay additions include new enemies such as Deadframes and Tediore soldiers equipped with exoskeletons, as well as large mechs. The update will also feature new loot, including two Pearlescent weapons—the Astonisher Ripper shotgun and the Quadratus—alongside 18 pieces of Legendary gear.

Alongside this story pack, Gearbox will release ‘Amara and the Vile Shadows’, a smaller content drop featuring a new re-playable mission, new bosses, and cosmetic items.
