Gears of War: E-Day details origins of Locust invasion

Gears of War: E-Day is set to return players to the origins of the franchise, focusing on the initial emergence of the Locust from the depths of Sera. The campaign takes place in the city of Kalona during the first three nights of the Emergency Day crisis.

Players will control a younger, more disciplined Marcus Fenix alongside Dominic Santiago and new Bravo Squad members Lucas Reyes and Mags Carter. The narrative explores the tension between military defense and civilian protection, featuring locations such as the Kalona City Hall, which serves as an operations base, and the Oria Stadium.

The gameplay aims to blend classic series roots with modern mechanics, including intense cover-based combat and the return of the active reload system. The story follows the squad as they encounter tactical enemies like Locust Drones and Boomers while navigating the chaos of the initial invasion.
