Xbox Partners with Nvidia for Gears of War: E-Day RTX Features

Xbox and The Coalition have named Nvidia as the exclusive PC partner for the upcoming Gears of War: E‑Day. The game, built on Unreal Engine 5 and DirectX 12, will launch on October 6 2026 for Xbox PC, Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Cloud, after an open‑beta that starts on August 6 for pre‑order customers.

Nvidia’s involvement brings hardware‑ray‑tracing, DLSS 4.5 with Dynamic Multi‑Frame Generation, DLSS Super Resolution and Nvidia Reflex latency reduction. The partnership also adds support for Nvidia’s MegaLights system, which enables hundreds of real‑time shadow‑casting lights. While RTX cards are required for ray‑tracing, the game also supports AMD FSR, Intel XeSS and Unreal Engine TSR, allowing non‑RTX GPUs to benefit from upscaling technologies.

System requirements list a minimum RTX 2060 or comparable GPU, 12 GB RAM and an SSD. Recommended specs target RTX 3060 Ti or higher. Advanced Shader Delivery will pre‑ship compiled shaders to reduce load‑time stutter. The title will not appear on PlayStation 5, positioning it as a showcase for Microsoft’s PC strategy and Nvidia’s next‑gen RTX hardware.
