Gears of War: E-Day reaches gold status for October 2026 release

The Coalition has announced that Gears of War: E-Day has reached ‘gold status’, confirming its official release on October 6, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S and PC. As a Day One title for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers, the prequel will explore the origins of the series, set 14 years before the original game during the Locust invasion.

Players purchasing the Premium Edition can access the game via early access starting October 1, 2026. Post-launch support for the title is expected to include seasonal roadmaps and updates for the Horde Siege multiplayer mode, featuring new classes, maps, and seasonal events.

October 2026 is shaping up to be a significant month for the Xbox Game Pass catalog. In addition to Gears of War, confirmed upcoming titles include Keeper (October 2), Echo Weaver (October 8), Valor Mortis (October 13), Chained Beasts (October 15), and Terrible Lizards (October 29).
