Gears of War: E-Day sees strong launch engagement and physical sales

Gears of War: E-Day has demonstrated significant player engagement and unique sales trends following its release. In North America, data from Circana indicates the title is among the most played games at launch, ranking third on Xbox behind live-service giants Fortnite and Roblox.

In Spain, the game reached the top three in weekly sales, with a notable trend toward physical media. According to the Spanish Association of Video Games (AEVI), 98.6% of the 3,685 copies sold in the country were physical discs, contrasting with the industry's general shift toward digital distribution.

The prequel returns to the franchise's origins, set fourteen years before the first game during the Locust Horde invasion. The campaign follows Delta Squad members Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago alongside new characters Mags Carter and Lucas Reyes.
