Gears of War E-Day requires ray tracing for PC beta

The Coalition released the technical specifications for the Gears of War: E-Day beta, announced on 4 August. Ray tracing is mandatory, and the title supports modern upscalers such as DLSS 4.5, FSR 4 and XeSS 3.0. Minimum hardware includes a Ryzen 5 2600X, i7‑6850K or i5‑10400 CPU, 12 GB RAM, and a GPU such as an RTX 3050, RTX 2060, RX 5600 or RX 6600. Recommended hardware raises the bar to a Ryzen 5 5600 or i5‑11600K, 16 GB RAM and GPUs like the RTX 4060, RTX 3060 Ti, RX 7600 XT or RX 6700 XT, with at least 80 GB SSD space and Windows 10/11 version 22H2.

Beta testing runs from 6‑10 August for pre‑order and Game‑Pass users and from 13‑17 August as an open beta; the full game is slated for release on 6 October. In parallel, other developers adjusted requirements: Game Freak lowered the RAM need for Beast of Reincarnation to 16 GB and recommends an i7‑12700K or Ryzen 7 5800X with an RTX 3060 or RX 6700 XT for smooth 1080p 60 fps play. Ubisoft also launched The Division Resurgence as a free‑to‑play title on Steam.
