Gears of War franchise launches open beta for E-Day and offers deep discount on Gears 5

The Coalition and Microsoft announced the open beta for Gears of War: E-Day, scheduled for two consecutive weekends in August. The first weekend (August 6‑10) is limited to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscribers and those who have pre‑ordered the game, while the second weekend (August 13‑17) is open to all players on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Pre‑load is already available via the Microsoft Store, and reservation bonuses include exclusive character and weapon skins.

Separately, the studio began an 85 % discount sale for the 2019 title Gears 5 on Steam, pricing the standard edition at ¥570 and the Game of the Year edition (including the Hivebusters DLC) at ¥810. The promotion runs until August 13 and applies to the PC version, which is also available through the Microsoft Store and Xbox Game Pass.
