Gebrüder Weiss achieves EcoVadis Gold Medal for sustainability

Gebrüder Weiss, an international logistics company based in Vorarlberg, has achieved a Gold Medal in the global EcoVadis sustainability assessment. The company received a perfect score of 100 out of 100 in the environmental category and an overall score of 85 out of 100. This performance places the Lauterach-based firm within the top 5 percent of companies evaluated worldwide by EcoVadis.

This achievement marks an improvement from the Silver status held in 2024. The assessment considers several factors, including environmental impact, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

To support its sustainability goals, Gebrüder Weiss has increased investments in renewable energy and eco-friendly transport. Key initiatives include expanding its electric truck fleet and charging infrastructure, installing solar power systems at logistics centers, and operating its own wind power plant. In 2025, the company’s solar facilities are expected to produce approximately 15,000 megawatt-hours of electricity. Additionally, the company has included more than 95 percent of its activities in its carbon emission calculations since 2024.
