Geek+ to debut humanoid robot Gino in Japan
Geek+ has announced the first domestic unveiling of its humanoid robot, ‘Gino’, scheduled for the International Logistics Exhibition 2026 at Tokyo Big Sight.
Unlike traditional robots that repeat programmed motions, Gino is designed to understand complex human instructions and environmental context, breaking tasks down into actionable steps. The robot utilizes the ‘Gravity’ AI framework to enable advanced situational awareness and motion prediction.
Targeting the logistics sector, Gino aims to automate intricate manual processes such as picking and transporting various types of goods. By employing ‘whole-body parallel control’, the robot can synchronize hand and leg movements, which the company claims can reduce task time by approximately 30% compared to sequential movement patterns. The robot is capable of handling diverse items, including soft packaging and small objects, by integrating RGB cameras, depth information, and 3D point cloud data.
