Geely EX2 electric vehicle tuning demonstrates increased power potential

Automotive specialist Ricardinho ACF has demonstrated the technical viability of reprogramming electric vehicle motors, specifically through a project involving the Geely EX2. Developed in partnership with the Chinese manufacturer, the concept car was created for the Festival Interlagos 2026 to showcase how additional power and torque can be extracted from an original electric powertrain.

While the logic of dynamic tuning shares similarities with internal combustion engine calibration, the primary difference lies in how energy and heat are managed. The specialist noted that while it is possible to modify electric vehicles, the process is more expensive than traditional combustion tuning due to component complexity.

Technical challenges center on thermal management. By exploiting the operational safety margins left by manufacturers, the project can increase electrical discharge for short-duration, high-intensity use, such as a ten-minute drift session. However, this increased discharge requires rigorous control over heat dissipation within the high-voltage system to prevent overheating.
