Geely announces ambitious industrial expansion in Algeria

Chinese automotive giant Geely is launching an ambitious industrial plan to establish a significant presence in Algeria. The strategy focuses on local production, technology transfer, and transforming the country into a regional automotive hub.

Key components of the project include the establishment of modern manufacturing units and research and development centers. Geely aims to produce a diverse range of vehicles, including hybrid and electric models, to meet local demand. The company intends to leverage high-tech robotics and local partnerships to integrate into the Algerian economic fabric, which could stimulate job creation and reduce reliance on imports. Following the sale of over 10,000 Geely vehicles in Algeria in 2023, the manufacturer is moving toward long-term local implantation.
