GEFRON seizes over 6,300 kg of drugs in Acre during 2026
The Special Border Operations Group (GEFRON) reported significant drug seizure figures in Acre for the first nine months of 2026. Between January and September, the agency seized a total of 6,339.55 kilograms of narcotics, resulting in an estimated R$ 74.6 million loss to criminal organizations.
September alone accounted for a massive surge in activity, with 4,169.18 kilograms of drugs seized. This single month represented approximately 65.8% of the total volume recorded throughout the year. Colonel Assis Martins dos Santos, the general coordinator of GEFRON, noted that this concentration is the result of prolonged intelligence work, monitoring, and information sharing that often spanned several weeks or even months before the final operations were executed.
In addition to narcotics, GEFRON's 296 operations during this period led to 101 arrests or detentions, the seizure of 40 vehicles, 10 firearms, and 43 rounds of ammunition. The agency also intercepted contraband, including 34,040 packs of cigarettes and 55,380 units of deodorant, and recovered R$ 59,512 in cash.
