Gehunta Ben Yosef denies Mossad conspiracy allegations

Gehunta Ben Yosef, President of the Kurdish-Jewish Community in Israel, has publicly denied allegations from Turkish media outlets claiming his involvement in Mossad intelligence operations. The claims, published by newspapers such as Cumhuriyet and Takvim, suggested that a recent Jewish and Kurdish conference held in London was a covert Israeli intelligence operation organized by Ben Yosef.

Ben Yosef clarified that the event was an open, public academic and community meeting organized by London-based Jewish and Kurdish organizations. He participated as a guest speaker via video message, noting that of the more than 50 international participants, only five were from Israel. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar also provided a video greeting, emphasizing the importance of strengthening ties between Jews and Kurds.

Ben Yosef questioned why advocacy for Kurdish national rights, security, and self-determination is viewed by certain circles in Turkey, Iran, and Iraq as a Mossad operation, whereas support for Palestinian independence is treated as a standard political position. He maintained that the rights of the Kurdish people are independent of political expediency.
