Geismar investigation launched into suspected animal cruelty

An investigation is underway in Geismar following an incident of suspected animal cruelty. Between July 16 and 17, 2026, a cat was injured by a projectile, identified as a diabolo shot, in the Am Mühlberg area.

Local residents have reported that multiple cats in the area have been injured in similar incidents previously. The victim's owner has filed a criminal complaint against unknown perpetrators. Police are requesting that anyone with information regarding suspicious individuals or the use of air rifles in the area contact local authorities.
