Gela Mayor announces municipality will join legal proceedings in El Koudri attack case

Mayor Massimo Mezzetti has announced that the municipality will join the legal proceedings as a civil party regarding the investigation into Salim El Koudri. This decision follows the May 16 attack in via Emilia Centro, where a vehicle was used to strike several people.

The legal situation has intensified following the death of Monica Esposito on July 22, an event that increases the legal severity of the case against El Koudri. The Mayor stated that the municipality's involvement aims to protect the city's image and, more importantly, to demonstrate solidarity with the victims and their families.

This action follows a previous decision by the administration to act as a civil party in the case involving the death of Antonietta Berselli.
