Gela prepares for Coppa Italia Serie D debut against Licata

Gela football club is preparing for its first official match of the 2026/27 season, a Coppa Italia Serie D preliminary round against Licata. The team, led by coach Fabio Comandatore, is reportedly 90% complete, with sporting director Marco Cammarata noting that work continues to finalize the roster, specifically regarding midfield reinforcements.

Club president Maurizio Melfa announced significant organizational milestones, including securing 100 sponsors and 700 season ticket subscriptions. The club also officially announced the signing of striker Antonio Rozzi, a former Lazio youth product with experience in Serie A, Europa League, and Spain's La Liga 2.

In a show of community solidarity, the club's management and staff participated in a local mobilization at the Gela hospital to advocate for improvements to the city's healthcare services.
