Gelderland announces 50 nominees for Waarde-Ring 2026

Fifty residents of Gelderland have been nominated for the 2026 Gelderse Waarde-Ring. This award recognizes individuals who work to strengthen the connection between citizens and farmers within the province.

The winners will be announced in three categories—culinary connector, educational connector, and innovator—during a gala at the Huis der Provincie in Arnhem on October 8. Nominees include a diverse group ranging from farmers and bakers to owners of regional product shops and founders of children's cooking schools, representing 27 different municipalities.

The awards ceremony is part of the ‘Week van Ons Eten’ (Week of Our Food), held from October 3 to October 10. This week features various public activities designed to provide insight into food production, including mayoral breakfasts with schoolchildren and themed days focusing on topics such as organic food, vegetables, and fish.
