GELEX Electric proposes rebranding and expansion into technology

GELEX Electric (GEE) has announced a proposal to its General Meeting of Shareholders to rename the company and significantly expand its business scope. The Board of Directors suggests changing the Vietnamese name from CTCP Điện lực GELEX to CTCP Công nghiệp GELEX, with the English name becoming GELEX Industries Joint Stock Company.

The rebranding aims to reflect a strategic shift from a focus solely on electrical equipment toward a broader industrial ecosystem. The proposed expansion includes new business lines in technology, research and development, industrial materials, and digital infrastructure. Specific additions include computer programming, IT consulting, software publishing, and data processing and storage services.

In addition to the name change and sector expansion, the company plans to amend its charter and adjust its Board of Directors. This includes the dismissal of one member and the election of a supplementary member for the remainder of the 2025-2030 term.
