Gelibolu businessman detained with two minors in hotel raid

Police in the Gelibolu district of Çanakkale have detained a businessman, identified as Ş. T., following a raid on a hotel room. The individual was found in the company of two male minors under the age of 18.

Following the raid, which was conducted based on a tip-off, authorities took the suspect to Gelibolu State Hospital to collect blood and swab samples. Investigators also conducted a detailed forensic examination of the hotel room, noting that a significant amount of alcohol had been consumed.

The investigation has expanded to include the hotel's management. Authorities are looking into allegations that the hotel staff and owners were aware of the situation and may have intentionally bypassed official reporting systems by keeping the minors' registration records in a separate, non-official system. There are also claims that management pressured employees to remain silent about the incident. Police are currently reviewing hotel records and questioning staff members.
