Gemadept Run 2026 raises funds for school in Dien Bien

More than 4,500 participants gathered at the Phu My Hung Urban Area in Ho Chi Minh City on October 25 for the Gemadept Run 2026. The event featured three race distances: 5km, 10km, and 21km. Huynh Anh Khoi secured first place in the 21km category.

Under the theme ‘Each step – a future’, the event aims to support educational infrastructure in remote areas. Proceeds from this year's race are expected to fund the construction of two new classrooms, a kitchen, and a restroom at the Tham Pao school site within the Hoa Ban Kindergarten in Dien Bien province. The estimated budget for this project is approximately 768 million VND.

This marks the fifth season of the Gemadept Run. Earlier in the month, a leg of the event took place in Hai Phong with over 1,500 participants. The organization noted that funds from the 2025 race were previously used to complete the Huoi Hoc – Bao Nam 1 school site in Nghe An province, which became operational in August 2026.
