Gemini Intelligence logo appears on Pixel 10 Pro Fold in Android 17 QPR1 Beta 5

Google released the Android 17 QPR1 Beta 5 update, the fifth step toward the September 2026 stable launch. The beta mainly delivers bug fixes, minor UI tweaks, and brings back support for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, while no new APIs are introduced.

During testing, a Pixel 10 Pro Fold that installed Beta 5 displayed the Gemini Intelligence logo at the bottom of the external screen, while the internal display showed no change. The logo appears only on the outer foldable panel, and the update does not include any Gemini Intelligence features such as Create My Widget or Gboard Rambler. Analysts suggest the branding may be an accidental inclusion in the code rather than a functional preview.

The incident has drawn attention among developers and enthusiasts as a possible hint of Google’s upcoming Gemini Intelligence integration, expected later in the year on newer Pixel devices, but for now the beta remains a modest refinement without new consumer‑visible functionality.
