Geminorum SA issues €25 million bond for student housing in Rome
Geminorum SA is launching a €25 million bond to fund the development of 1,178 new student housing beds in the Rome area. The Luxembourg-based company plans to use 90% of the raised funds to convert three existing properties into student residences. These locations include two sites in Rome and one in Pomezia.
The project is supported by the Italian Ministry of University and Research and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP), which will provide €22.5 million in non-repayable grants. This initiative is part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan aimed at increasing university housing availability.
In a broader context, Italian officials have noted a significant increase in national student housing capacity, rising from 45,000 beds in 2022 to 120,000. This expansion is part of a larger €9.5 billion investment in Italian universities intended to improve accessibility and competitiveness.
