Gemlik Olive Festival sees record 77,000 TL auction price

At the 33rd International Gemlik Olive Festival, a record-breaking auction took place during the Best Quality Table Olive Competition. The winning product, produced by İsmail Aydın from Muratoba, was purchased by Kavlak Gıda for 77,000 Turkish Liras for a single kilogram of olives.

Gemlik Mayor Şükrü Deviren announced that the entire proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Gemlik Sümerbey Sports Club, which competes in the 3rd League. Deviren emphasized that Gemlik olives are a global brand and highlighted the importance of increasing the economic and cultural value of the region's produce through institutional cooperation.

Other award winners in the competition included Nükhet Doğru, who took second place, and Mutlu Bal, who took third place.
