Gen Alpha slang trends for 2026 revealed by search data

A study by Unscramblerer analyzing Google Search trends from January to August has identified the most searched Gen Alpha slang terms for 2026. The data provides insight into the cultural conversations, habits, and preoccupations of the generation born between 2010 and 2024.

Among the trending terms is ‘6-7’, a phrase traced to the Skrilla song ‘Doot Doot (6 7)’ that went viral following a basketball game. The term was previously recognized as Dictionary.com’s 2025 Word of the Year. Other notable terms include ‘chud’, an insult used by teenagers, and ‘bop’. The study also notes the use of ‘unc’, short for ‘uncle’, as a way for younger people to label others as old, though it did not reach the top ten most searched terms.
