Gen Con 2026 draws global tabletop fans to Indianapolis

The Gen Con tabletop gaming convention will take place from July 30 to August 2, 2026 at the Indianapolis Convention Center in the United States. The four‑day event, the world’s largest gathering of board‑game, RPG and collectible‑card enthusiasts, will feature numerous new releases and play‑tests. Highlights include a play‑test of a potential sixth edition of Vampire : The Masquerade from White Wolf, a new expansion for the fantasy RPG Daggerheart, and the full release of the Zelda‑inspired tabletop system Twilight Sword, which raised over €700,000 on Kickstarter. Charlene DeLoach, veteran toy‑industry editor, previewed a range of upcoming titles – from family games such as “Smack and Cheese” to the competitive trading‑card game “Rush of Icor,” whose championship tournament at Gen Con offers a prize pool exceeding $100,000. DeLoach said, “Gen Con continues to be the ultimate gathering for all kinds of players,” underscoring the convention’s role as a showcase for both established publishers and independent creators worldwide.
