Gen Narumi's New Anime Special 'Narumi’s Week at Work' Announced

The Kaiju No. 8 franchise is expanding with an original anime mini‑series titled *Narumi’s Week at Work*. The four‑episode special centers on Gen Narumi, captain of the First Division of Japan’s Defense Force and the series’ strongest anti‑kaiju combatant. It follows his chaotic week of duties, mixing humor with action.

The series will debut on 5 September 2026, with a new episode released each Saturday. Production I.G, the studio behind the main Kaiju No. 8 anime, is handling animation. The staff includes director Shigeyuki Miya, writer Ichiro Okouchi, and character designer Tetsuya Nishio. TOHO announced the project, confirming the same production team as the original series.

The mini‑series serves as a comedic spin‑off of the *Relax* manga and adds new content while fans await the third season of the main show.
