Deutschlandticket price to rise to 66.80 euros in 2027
The price of the Deutschlandticket, a nationwide monthly subscription for regional and local public transport in Germany, is set to increase. Starting January 1, 2027, the cost will rise from 63 euros to 66.80 euros.
Brandenburg Transport Minister Robert Crumbach defended the increase, stating that the ticket remains highly affordable and that a standardized procedure for annual price adjustments has been agreed upon with the federal government. He noted that rising energy costs impact the operation of buses and trams.
In response to the upcoming hike, the German Environmental Aid Association (Deutsche Umwelthilfe) has launched a petition. The organization is calling for a cheaper 29-euro ticket to encourage a shift from fossil fuels to public transit, criticizing the government for signaling a move away from affordable mobility.
