Gendarmería Nacional dismantles drug network in Gualeguaychú

Argentine authorities have dismantled a drug trafficking network following 14 simultaneous raids in Gualeguaychú, Entre Ríos. The operation was a joint effort between the Gendarmería Nacional and the Entre Ríos Provincial Police.

During the searches, which included residential properties and two cells within Penal Unit No. 9, officials seized 300 grams of cocaine, 70 grams of marijuana, and 39 cannabis sativa plants. Additional items confiscated included precision scales, packaging materials, firearms, various calibers of ammunition, cash in both dollars and Argentine pesos, and mobile phones.

Eight individuals were arrested in connection with the investigation, with three detained by provincial police and five by the Gendarmería Nacional. The arrests were made in violation of narcotics and provincial laws.
