Gendarmerie recovers 1 million lira in stolen gold after fraud arrest

Four suspects were arrested in Istanbul following a fraud investigation in the Bucak district of Burdur. The suspects allegedly gained a victim's trust by posing as police officers over the phone, subsequently obtaining approximately 1 million lira worth of gold and jewelry from a resident in Dağarcık village on August 8.

Following the incident, teams from the Burdur Provincial Gendarmerie Command, including JASAT, and the Bucak District Gendarmerie Command conducted technical and field investigations. The investigation tracked the suspects' movements from Burdur to Istanbul.

During the coordinated operation in Istanbul, authorities recovered the stolen jewelry, which was later returned to the victim. Of the four suspects detained, three were arrested by the court, while one was released under judicial control.
