Gene Gnocchi launches new football program on Teleromagna
Comedian Gene Gnocchi, born Eugenio Ghiozzi, has launched a new television project titled ‘Martedì Gnocchi’ on the regional channel Teleromagna. The program, which airs every Tuesday at 19:30 and 22:30, focuses on Serie A football through a lens of irony, satire, and technical competence.
Gnocchi explained that his decision to join a local broadcaster stemmed from a desire to pursue his passion for football. He noted that many positions in national sports broadcasting are currently occupied by opinionists, leaving little room for his specific blend of comedy and football analysis. He further stated that he declined offers to appear on national reality shows such as ‘Grande Fratello Vip’, ‘Ballando con le stelle’, and ‘L’Isola dei famosi’ to prioritize meaningful content.
Reflecting on his career, Gnocchi shared that before his rise to fame via Milan’s Zelig, he practiced law for four years after studying philosophy of law in Parma. He credited his former legal partner for encouraging him to pursue comedy professionally.
