Honduras TSC uncovers irregularities in 953 million lempira state fund liens
The Tribunal Superior de Cuentas (TSC) in Honduras has uncovered significant irregularities regarding judicial liens placed on State Single Account funds. An investigation into 40 files processed by courts in Choluteca and Olancho revealed that public resources exceeding 953 million lempiras were affected.
A particularly serious finding involves 13 files related to labor lawsuits against the municipality of Choluteca. The TSC reported that approximately 32.5 million lempiras were seized through these processes using judicial exhorts that lacked any documentary support, such as conciliation agreements or execution orders. The investigation noted that the Juzgado de Letras del Trabajo de Francisco Morazán executed these liens without electronic or institutional confirmation from the Choluteca court, which has since disavowed the signatures and seals used in the documents.
