General Dynamics Land Systems–Canada signs strategic defence partnership with Canada

General Dynamics Land Systems–Canada (GDLS-Canada) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Government of Canada to advance the nation's Defence Industrial Strategy. As part of this agreement, GDLS-Canada received a nearly $2 billion award to provide 190 additional Armoured Combat Support Vehicles (ACSVs) for Canada and to produce 35 vehicles for Ukraine.

To support the ACSV program, Kongsberg has signed a contract with GDLS-Canada valued at NOK 1.1 billion to deliver PROTECTOR RS4 Remote Weapon Systems. These systems will be integrated into the Canadian Army’s vehicle fleet to enhance operational capabilities and situational awareness for crews.

The ACSV program aims to replace the existing Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV) II Bison and M113 Tracked LAV fleets with a modern fleet of 550 vehicles based on the LAV 6.0. These vehicles will serve various roles, including ambulances, mobile repair and recovery, engineer support, and command posts.
