General Garofano and attorney De Rensis clash during television broadcast

A verbal confrontation occurred on Rai Uno between General Luciano Garofano and attorney Antonio De Rensis during a television broadcast on October 1. The tension escalated when De Rensis, who represents Alberto Stasi in the Garlasco murder case, appeared to simulate falling asleep while Garofano was speaking. Garofano reacted sharply to the gesture, prompting De Rensis to threaten to leave the program before host Eleonora Daniele intervened to restore order. Following the incident, Garofano left the studio.

Separately, De Rensis addressed the dismissal of a complaint filed against him by Stefania Cappa, a cousin of Chiara Poggi, before the Milan Court of Appeal's disciplinary council. De Rensis expressed emotional distress regarding the complaint, stating that he considers himself an “exceptionally honest and free” man and that the legal challenge to his professional standing was a grave matter.
