General Hospital characters exit mob life amid new drama

The long-running ABC soap opera General Hospital is undergoing significant narrative shifts. Following the decision for decades-long mafia figures Sonny Corinthos and Jason Morgan to leave organized crime, actor Maurice Benard has addressed fan concerns regarding the show's direction. Benard assured viewers that while the characters are moving away from the mob, they will retain their power and influence in new, “absolutely beautiful” storylines.

Simultaneously, high-stakes drama is unfolding in Port Charles involving Willow Tait and Michael Corinthos. After Jacinda Bracken drugged Willow, a situation that endangered Willow's children, Michael has confronted Jacinda, leading to a potential breakup. The incident has also intensified an escalating custody battle, with Willow expressing her intent to take her children.

Other ongoing plotlines include Josslyn Jacks' refusal of a CEO position and her desire to return to WSB field assignments, as well as tensions between Drew Cain and Jason Morgan. Additionally, the show continues to follow legal developments involving Curtis and the upcoming jury verdict in his courtroom case.
