General Massimo Masciulli departs Campania for new anti-mafia role

Army General Massimo Masciulli has concluded his tenure leading the Ogaden Interregional Command, which oversaw the territories of Campania, Basilicata, Puglia, Abruzzo, and Molise. During a farewell ceremony at the Salvo D’Acquisto barracks in Naples, Masciulli met with military representatives and the Commander of the Campania Carabinieri Legion, Major General Francesco Gargaro.

Masciulli is set to transition to a new role at the Direzione Investigativa Antimafia (DIA) in Rome. Reflecting on his time in the region, he emphasized the importance of human personnel over technology, noting that while operational tools and new technologies evolve, institutions ultimately rely on the people within the Carabinieri.
