General Mills to appoint first female CEO amid market shifts

Dana McNabb is set to become the first female CEO of the US food corporation General Mills on January 1, 2027. She succeeds Jeff Harmening, who will transition to Executive Chair of the Board. The appointment comes as the company faces financial pressure, including a recent three percent decline in reported revenue and an eleven percent drop in adjusted operating profit.

Separately, Netflix is facing market challenges as its stock price has declined significantly, losing over 25 percent year-to-date. Analysts note that while the company remains profitable, competition from YouTube is impacting viewer attention, with YouTube's share of US television viewing time reaching 14.2 percent in July, compared to Netflix's 7.8 percent.

In consumer finance, experts suggest that small habit changes, such as increasing friction in the purchasing process by leaving credit cards at home or avoiding evening shopping, can help reduce impulse spending and improve financial control.
