General Mirosław Różański honored at state funeral

State funeral ceremonies were held in Międzyrzecz to honor General Mirosław Różański, a former commander of the General Command of the Armed Forces and a recent Senator of the Republic of Poland. The ceremonies included a mass at St. Wojciech Church and were attended by high-ranking officials, including Senate Marshal Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

During the tributes, officials highlighted Różański’s commitment to national security and his transition from military leadership to public service. His military career included commanding the 11th Armored Cavalry Division and participating in the PKW mission in Iraq. Following his retirement from active duty in 2017, he founded the Stratpoints Security and Development Foundation.

The deceased passed away on August 24 at the age of 63 following a battle with multiple myeloma. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that mourners make donations to the Stratpoints Foundation to support veterans and strategic security initiatives.
