General Motors issues stop-sale for 2027 Corvette Grand Sport

General Motors has issued a voluntary emissions recall and stop-sale for the 2027 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport, and potentially other 2027 Corvette models, due to an incorrect emissions label. The issue involves the Vehicle Emissions Control Information (VECI) label located under the hood, which fails to list the correct evaporative emissions family name.

GM stated there is no mechanical repair required and no driving safety hazard associated with the error. However, because vehicles cannot legally be sold with incorrect emissions labeling, dealers in the United States and Canada have been instructed to hold affected inventory.

The remedy involves a technician removing the incorrect sticker and applying a new, accurate label, a process estimated to take approximately 30 minutes at no cost to owners. Affected owners will be notified by mail, though they can also check their status via the MyChevrolet app or GM’s online recall lookup tool.
