General Motors Managing Director Jess Bala departs GM ANZ

General Motors (GM) has announced the immediate departure of Jess Bala, the Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand. Bala, who was the youngest and first female leader of the regional division, leaves after a two-decade career with the automaker.

During her tenure, Bala oversaw the growth of GM's regional portfolio, including the introduction of Cadillac as an electric-only brand in 2024, as well as the management of Corvette and various SUV and truck models. Her previous experience included serving as chief of staff to GM CEO Mary Barra and working on global electric vehicle programs in Detroit.

Greg Rowe, the current Director of Sales and Operations, has been appointed as the Acting Managing Director. A permanent successor has not yet been named.
